This section explains what happens if your storage or data transfer exceeds the plan limit, and how to handle the situation.
If You Exceed the Storage Limit
Access to the server will be restricted, and you’ll see a “509 Bandwidth Limit Exceeded” error as shown in the following document, but you’ll still be able to launch WordPress and access it.
What should I do if I get a “509 Bandwidth Limit Exceeded” error?
Solution:
You can resolve this issue using one of the following methods.
Upgrade to a Higher Plan:
This is the best and easiest solution. Higher-tier plans offer greater data transfer bandwidth and storage capacity. Check your current bandwidth and storage usage in the Shifter dashboard, then upgrade your plan to resolve the issue. For information on upgrading your plan, please refer to the support document “ Changing Your Plan.” If you are already on the Tier 3 plan, please contact support.
Restart WordPress to delete unnecessary files and recalculate storage usage:
There are no restrictions on restarting WordPress, so please access the WordPress dashboard to organize your media files. Afterward, generate artifacts to trigger a recalculation of storage usage.
Switch media files to Shifter Media CDN (Tier 1 or higher):
Please refer to the support document “ Shifter Media CDN (link).” Shifter supports the WebP media format in environments where Media CDN is enabled. Simply by enabling Media CDN, Shifter converts media to Web formats without modifying the original files, thereby speeding up media loading.
