Shifter Static converts your entire WordPress site into static pages and delivers the HTML and CSS via a CDN, thereby separating WordPress from the public-facing area. This allows you to build a secure and fast website.
The static version of WordPress is called an “Artifact.”
Staticizing WordPress Procedure
Getting Started
In Shifter Static, WordPress environments are managed as units called “sites.”If you haven’t set up your site yet, see “How to Create and Publish a New Shifter Site” to create a site.
1. Go to the admin panel for the site you want to create an artifact for on Shifter.
2. If WordPress is running, stop it, then click “Deploy” to create the artifact.
Publishing Your Site
- By default, your site is set to publish automatically once the artifact is created.
- If you do not want to publish the artifact automatically and would prefer to preview it or make other adjustments before publishing at a time of your choosing, disable “Auto-Deploy” in the settings menu. In that case, click the “Publish” button manually to publish the site.
- Artifacts are stored for up to 10 generations. If you want to revert to a previous version of the artifact, select the artifact you want to publish and click “Publish.”
