The DNS records for verification will be issued after you complete “Registering a Domain on the Shifter Dashboard.”
Please register your domain on the Shifter dashboard before proceeding with this step.
If you have registered both versions of the domain (with and without “www” in the URL—e.g., example.com and www.example.com), separate verification DNS records will be issued for each, and you must configure both. Make a note of the copied DNS records for domain ownership verification in a text editor or similar tool.
Please note that you must complete domain verification within 72 hours of registering the domain. If you are unable to complete verification within this timeframe, the process will time out or result in an error. In that case, please delete and re-register the domain, then obtain the verification DNS records again and configure them on your DNS server.
Access the DNS server management interface

6. Enter the “Name” portion of the first of the two verification records you noted down.
7. The entry is now complete.
8. Select “CNAME” as the record type.
9. In the “Value/Traffic Destination” field, enter the “Value” portion of the first verification record you noted down
10. Once you’ve finished entering the information, click “Define Simple Record” to save the settings
Set up the second verification record (e.g., for www.example.com)
11. Click “Define a Simple Record.”
12. In the “Record Name” field, enter the “Name” portion of the second verification record.
13. You have now finished entering the information. You only need to enter the information up to the point immediately following the subdomain.
14. Select CNAME for “Record Type.”
15. In the “Value/Traffic Destination” field, enter the “Value” portion of the second verification record.
17. The entry has been completed.

19. Click “Create Record” to apply the record.
20. The verification record has been successfully created.
If the settings are configured correctly, domain verification will be completed within a few minutes to a few hours. Once domain verification is complete, the domain’s status on the Shifter dashboard will change to “Verified.”
